The Sow the Seed programme is dedicated to advisory support for Agricultural and Horticultural Science subject and was established through the reception of a grant spanning a 5-year period, generously provided by the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) and the Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures initiative. This funding has enabled the programme to promote and enhance Agricultural and Horticultural Science education across the country and working closely with HATA provides tailored support for both new and experienced teachers, mentorship, online workshops, classroom management advice, curriculum materials, professional development, and training through the instigation of Regional Hubs.

Agribusiness in Schools in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and industry business partners have collaborated to design an agribusiness programme that will prepare the best and brightest students for careers in the primary sector. It is offered at NCEA Levels 2 and 3 and is designed for students who excel in science and commerce subjects. This academic course exposes students to the wide range of skills required and the opportunities available in the primary sector beyond the farm gate. The Agribusiness programme and its advisory support is available for all secondary schools around New Zealand and is currently offered in 116 schools, in both rural and urban areas. https://www.agribusiness.school.nz/
