AVOCO Tertiary Scholarship

FMG Agriculture Scholarship

Horticulture NZ Postgraduate Scholarship
Closing Date: 1 Dec 2026
Open to people undertaking postgraduate study in horticulture or related fields.
Every year Horticulture New Zealand and the New Zealand Fruitgrowers Charitable Trust each offer one scholarship to a postgraduate student studying in New Zealand. These scholarships are offered to students undertaking postgraduate study because innovation and tackling challenges head-on is critical to the horticulture industry's future success.

Food Transitions 2050 PhD Scholarships
Closing Date: 31 Jan 2027
Open to postgraduate students interested in food sustainability research.
Each year FT2050 will call for supervisory teams from the University of Canterbury, Lincoln University, and at least one BSI partner to put forward suitable projects for consideration for scholarship funding. These are reviewed, and up to ten projects may be selected (subject to funding and project suitability).
In early December, the successful projects will be advertised, and prospective students can apply via this website for the cohort commencing in July of the following calendar year.
PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS - we will announce the projects looking for students in December. Please follow our LinkedIn page, or check back in December for details on how to apply.

Open to students enrolled in a master's degree in horticultural science at Massey University.
John Hodgson Pastoral Science Scholarship

Open to candidates who want to or are undertaking research in the field of or related to pastoral science at postgraduate level.
FAR Postgraduate Scholarship (Massey)

Open to students undertaking postgraduate research with a topic in an area relating to the New Zealand arable farming sector.

Southern Wood Council Forest Products Scholarship
Closing Date: 17 Mar 2027
Open to students who have completed their first/intermediate year and be enrolled in the second year/first professional year of a B.For.Sc or B.E.(Hons)(For) degree at the University of Canterbury.
Murray King Montford Trimble Foundation Scholarship
Closing Date: 31 Mar 2027
Open to Wairarapa students currently undertaking a degree in soil conservation, sustainable land management, integrated catchment, or natural ecosystem management at a New Zealand university.
Craigmore Sustainables Postgraduate Scholarship
Closing Date: 31 Mar 2027
Open to postgraduate students (Honours/Masters, PhD) enrolled at Lincoln University, with an agriculture or agricultural area research project.
John Reeves Memorial Scholarship

Open to students entering their final year of study towards a Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours degree at Lincoln University.
Sparling Environmental Travel Award

Open to post graduate students at the University of Waikato undertaking research in the areas of environmental studies, natural sciences, or agricultural sciences.
David Levene Foundation Bursaries

UC School of Forestry High Achievers Award (Incoming First-Year Scholarship)
Closing Date: 7 Aug 2027
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise and support high-achieving students entering their first year of the Bachelor of Forestry Science (BForSc) degree programme at the University of Canterbury.
Number of Scholarships available annually: Up to five, with one of the scholarships being reserved for a Māori or Pasifika student
Helen Graham Charitable Trust (in conjunction with The Thomas Bevan Family Charitable Trust)
